Hospitalisation

When you are hospitalised, you should only have to worry about getting better – Medihelp will take care of the rest.

Remember that you must register your hospital admission before you are admitted to hospital. 

• Hospital admission during office hours can be preregistered by phoning 086 0200 678.
• Hospital admission after office hours can be registered on the first workday following the admission.
   

Upon discharge

Medicine to take home

When you are discharged, your doctor may prescribe medicine for you to take home. These medicines are referred to as TTOs (to take out). Read more. 

Private nursing or subacute care facilities

After you are discharged from hospital, you may need to be admitted to a subacute care facility or require private nursing. In some cases, where the patient is terminally ill, he/she may be admitted to a hospice care facility.
