Benefits for TTO medicine are limited to a determined amount per benefit option, and this amount applies to each hospital event:

• Medihelp Plus: R390 per event
• Dimension Elite: R260 per event
• Dimension Prime 1, 2, and 3: R250 per event
• Necesse:  R250 per event
• Unify: limited to 7 days’ supply

Yes, TTOs are subject to certain criteria. These are as follows:

• It should be dispensed by the hospital pharmacy
• It should be included on the hospital account
• It must relate to the reason for the admission (diagnosis)

Chronic medicine  does not qualify for TTO medicine benefits. These medicines will therefore be funded from the normal benefits for chronic medicine.
