The Medihelp Stellenbosch Cycle Tour will take place on Sunday, 20 January 2019, and this year it will have a new start and finish at the breathtaking luxury lifestyle estate, Val de Vie in Franschoek, Western Cape.
This event is the Western Cape’s second-largest road cycling event and will once again act as the final premier seeding event for the 2019 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
While the start and finish venue has changed, cyclists will still brave the largely unchanged 102-kilometer route they have become accustomed to. Featuring 1 285 metres of total ascent, the major climb of the New Helshoogte Pass (which used to come shortly after the start) will now challenge riders near the end.
The roads meanders through the finest winelands and mountain scenery of the Boland, and offers every opportunity for a fast time and the opportunity to improve your seeding for the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
