Medihelp history
The 2000s were marked by innovation and recognition for Medihelp. A new computer system and Y2K-compliant software streamlined operations, while a call centre with workflow management software improved customer service. In 2000, Medihelp sponsored its first TV programme, Bloudruk, on kykNET.
In 2004, Medihelp introduced its first employee support programme and achieved an A+ rating for claims-paying ability from Global Credit Rating. The organisation was consistently ranked as a top employer in Deloitte’s Best Company to Work For survey and received accolades for customer satisfaction in the Ask Afrika Orange Index survey.
By 2007, Medihelp had become one of South Africa’s most recognised brands in the medical schemes industry. It launched initiatives such as the DVD series Living With, which addressed mental health conditions and was featured on Carte Blanche. Medihelp also sponsored the Sunrise Monster road race, a conditioner for the Comrades Marathon.
