Dental Risk Company (DRC)
Medihelp offers its dental benefits in partnership with the Dental Risk Company (DRC). Members may visit any dentist of their choice. DRC manages and authorises benefits according to DRC protocols, and Medihelp pays the claims. Transactions will be reported on your Medihelp claims statements. MedMove! and MedReach members must use a dentist in the DRC network.
Medihelp Preferred Pharmacy Network
Medihelp’s preferred pharmacy network consists of more than
2 000 pharmacies that offer Medihelp members the most cost-effective professional fee structure for prescribed medicine. Using network pharmacies will help members to limit out-of-pocket expenses.
ICON
ICON is the Independent Clinical Oncology Network to which more than 80% of the country’s oncologists belong. They provide the highest quality cancer care through a national footprint of high-tech chemotherapy and radiotherapy facilities. ICON is Medihelp’s designated service provider (DSP) for solid tumour oncology.
Pathology partners
For members’ convenience, Medihelp has negotiated competitive tariffs for pathology services with Ampath, Lancet, and PathCare Vermaak. Medihelp pays all pathology services according to these preferred provider rates. Members will be liable for the difference in price if they use a laboratory that charges more than these rates.
Netcare 911
Netcare 911 is our emergency medical transport services partner. Netcare 911’s Health-on-Line service provides emergency and non-emergency telephonic advice by qualified nurses, 24 hours a day.

LifeSense is the managed healthcare partner for HIV/Aids-related services and post-exposure prophylaxis. Dis-Chem Direct and Medipost are the designated service providers for HIV/Aids medicine.
DBC
Medihelp’s Back and Neck Treatment Programme is offered in cooperation with Documentation Based Care. Each programme is developed by an interdisciplinary medical team according to the individual’s clinical profile. The programme is a prerequisite for spinal column surgery.
Preventive care
Clicks and Dis-Chem are Medihelp’s designated service providers for preventive care health assessments.
OHMC
The Oncology Healthcare Management Company (OHMC) is Medihelp’s designated service provider for haematology oncology and stem cell transplants.
Medipost and the Elect PMB chronic medicine collection points
Dis-Chem Oncology and Medipost are the designated service providers (DSPs) for prescribed minimum benefit (PMB) cancer medicine. Members of MedMove!, MedVital Elect, MedAdd Elect, MedReach, and MedPrime Elect must get their PMB chronic medicine from Medipost (the DSP) to avoid co-payments.
Opticlear
Medihelp uses Opticlear, an optical management company, to manage members’ optical benefits. Members may use optometry services and material, like spectacles, from any Opticlear network provider at a discounted tariff. The Opticlear network incorporates 97% off all optometry providers in South Africa. Benefits are paid according to Opticlear tariffs.
