Dental Risk Company (DRC)
Medihelp offers its dental benefits in partnership with the Dental Risk Company (DRC). Members may visit any dentist of their choice, but DRC manages and grants the benefits according to DRC protocols. MedMove! and MedElect members must use a DRC network dentist.
Medihelp Preferred Pharmacy Network
Medihelp’s Preferred Pharmacy Network consists of more than 2 000 pharmacies that offer Medihelp members the most cost-effective professional fee structure for prescribed medicine. This means that members who visit network pharmacies won’t have to pay any excess amounts for higher professional fees, which non-network pharmacies charge, to dispense medicine items.
ICON
ICON is the Independent Clinical Oncology Network to which more than 80% of the country’s oncologists belong. They provide the highest quality cancer care through a countrywide footprint of high-tech chemotherapy and radiotherapy facilities. ICON is Medihelp’s designated service provider for cancer treatment.
Pathology partners
For members’ convenience, Medihelp has negotiated competitive tariffs for pathology services with Ampath, Lancet, and PathCare Vermaak, as well as other smaller laboratories. Medihelp pays all pathology services according to these preferred provider rates. Members will be liable for the difference in price if they use a laboratory that charges more than these rates.

Visit websiteSpecialist networks
Specialist networks effectively manage any specialist care that our members may require, while reducing their out-of-pocket expenses. For members of our network medical aid plans, a referral to a specialist is required by their network GP, and specific specialist networks ensure streamlined care between the specialist and the network hospital, especially for PMB services. Members can get a referral number by completing a form on the Member Zone at Pre-auth, Specialist referrals, and providing the following information:
- Details and practice numbers of the network GP and specialist
- Date of specialist appointment
- ICD-10 codes
