Benefits
What are day-to-day benefits?
Day-to-day benefits cover everyday medical costs like visits to the doctor, medicine, dental care, and eye tests. On our savings plans (MedAdd, MedSaver, MedPrime, and MedElite), these costs are first paid from your savings account. Once your savings are used up, extra day-to-day benefits become available.
What are preventive healthcare benefits?
Preventive benefits (included on all plans as added insured benefits) cover screenings, vaccines, and health checks to help you stay healthy by detecting or preventing illnesses early. They are usually separate from your day-to-day benefits.
What are my chronic benefits?
Chronic benefits cover long-term conditions like diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure. You usually need to register for a chronic programme to get approved medicine and treatment. You can register your condition on the Member Zone.
What are added insured benefits (core benefits)?
Added insured benefits (sometimes called core benefits) are extra cover included on most Medihelp plans, separate from day-to-day benefits. They include preventive screenings and tests, immunisations, women’s and men’s health, maternity and baby benefits, and specialised health programmes.
