Medihelp employees recently reached out to support Starfish Babies, a non-profit organisation that provides places of safety for defenceless babies and toddlers by donating money and baby essentials to assist in the care that foster families provide to these children.
Although Starfish Babies was formally established three years ago, its network of foster families who have opened their hearts and homes to vulnerable babies and toddlers has been in existence for the past 15 years. The non-profit follows a holistic approach to care by supporting foster families with first aid and trauma training, assisting with medical care, and acting as liaison between social workers and foster families.
“We are very grateful for the support that Medihelp has provided during the past two years, which has had a positive impact on the lives of so many children,” said Janice Spencer, operations manager at Starfish Babies.
“Medihelp employees are involved in various charities of their choice as part of our organisation’s corporate social investment (CSI) programme. It is a fulfilling experience to be contributing and supporting the wonderful work organisations like these are doing in providing care and places of safety”, said Marinda du Plessis, Head of Marketing at Medihelp.
