We negotiated special tariffs with a network of elected, good-quality private hospitals and day care facilities. Our negotiations have also streamlined the process for you and eliminated the need to research and select a hospital yourself, a task that can be time-consuming and overwhelming, particularly during illness or distress.

In 2024, Medihelp added more than 40 hospitals to our day procedure network, ensuring that all our MedMove! and Elect plan members have access to a conveniently located, quality institution. By growing our network, we create an ever-growing network of elected hospitals, which means you will have access to a quality hospital near you without worrying about large co-payments.

So, how do our hospital and day procedure networks differ?

Hospital network (HN)

Our hospital network (HN) is a network of hospitals that we advise members of MedMove! and Elect plans to use so they can receive excellent care at a reduced premium and avoid co-payments, where applicable.

Day procedure network (DPN)

The day procedure network (DPN) is designed for members of Elect plans, as certain procedures are only covered if performed in one of our day procedure facilities. MedMove! members must use hospitals from this list. Applicable procedures include ophthalmological, endoscopic, ear, nose, and throat procedures, skin lesion removal, circumcisions, and dental procedures.

How do I know which hospitals are part of a Medihelp network?

To locate the nearest hospital that is part of the network for your benefit plan, log on to https://www.medihelp.co.za/, click on CONNECT, and choose Provider search. This will allow you to search for network hospitals, general practitioners, dentists, optometrists, and even specialist in your area.

If you are using the Medihelp mobile app (available from Google Play/iStore/Huawei AppGallery), you can click on Find a provider and search for a hospital (or any other healthcare professional) close to you that is included in your benefit plan.
