A free routine health test could save your life

In South Africa, hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperlipidaemia (high cholesterol) are two of the diseases that lead to the most fatalities – but they don’t have any symptoms. A routine health check can help you detect health risks early and prevent you from becoming a victim.

As part of Medihelp’s added insured benefits, all our plans give you access to a free health test. This health test is a combination test for blood glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI). It can help you make lifestyle changes in time to turn your health around or get medical treatment if necessary.

With Medihelp’s care extender benefit, members can also activate additional benefits as a reward for looking after their health. As soon as the first claim for a combination test gets paid from your added insured benefits, a once-off benefit of R490 for self-medication for the family is activated.

Please note: MedMove members do not qualify for the care extender benefit.

The care extender benefit does not get activated if you are already registered for a prescribed minimum benefit (PMB) or chronic medicine benefit that is related to the relevant health test.
